But ask anyone to write up a bio, or write up a ‘Meet the Team’ entry for your website?
It’s hard to to communicate in writing, unless you’re an English major. So here’s the next best thing; a fill-in-the-blank template.
Enable helps small businesses grow by helping them with marketing strategies and websites. So it’s silly that it took us over a year to figure out how to write up our team interviews.
Mostly because we were so focused on helping our clients, we kept de-prioritizing ourselves.
But you and your team are key to your brand. A brand’s personality is really only an extension of your personality as a founder, and as a team.
People don’t develop personal relationships with brands. They engage with the awesome people who give the brands meaning, personality and life.
So take an hour, shoot this template around to your team, and get them to fill it in.
If some of them are your Type-A types, who answer the questions in perfectly succinct phrases, you might have to follow up with extra questions. See, some of us are great at communicating, others need a little nudge to start sharing.
More often than not, you might be surprised about what you learn about people. I know I was.

Your Meet the Team Page Template
This template is set up to hit a few key notes:
- Ask questions that highlight a problem in your industry nice, and how your particular team member responds to it.
- Express themselves as real people, and not drones.
- Share their values and vision for how the’yre making things better.
After each question, I’ve added a sentence prompting ways to think about the question, and explaining the value of the answer.

What is something [people in your industry/niche] have to deal with that you want to fix?
Business exists to solve a problem, and help people live better lives. Instead of starting the discussion talking about yourself, have a shot at resonating with your reader. How you understand your client’s pain points, and your approach to helping them, are instant trust builders.
What do you do at [your company]?
What do you interact with clients about? How do you try to make them feel when they’re working with you?
What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?
Perhaps your experience comes from an unlikely source? Sometimes, in-the-field experience can give you an edge over book learning. Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?
What’s your Archetype?
Archetypes are psychological themes of human behavior. Usually, we have a primary archetype, and often secondary and third. They’re cool ‘handles’ for understanding why we are the way we are. Take the free quiz.
What do you like about working at [your company]?
What does it allow you to do? Who does it allow you to become? What’s the culture like?
What’s your background?
Where did you grow up? What were you doing before working at [your company]? Share little details; pick a detail about your neighborhood, the kinds of people who impacted you, your favorite food growing up.
What are the values that drive you?
What we believe filters down and inspires who we are and what we do. Think about what you believe as it relates to your position, and the work you do in your industry. Often, we’re carrying the banner for popular needs and beliefs, like responsible business, care for human beings, freedom of expression, etc.
Your top 3 favorite Podcasts/Books?
In most industries, its valuable to show that you’re always learning. List the podcasts and books that you enjoy as they relate to your niche. One of them can be for fun, or any other topic.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
What do you do that makes you ‘human’, makes you feel alive and excited? If you’re constantly focused on your work, then it’s likely you ‘dry up’ as a person. Having other interests is critical, whether getting out and exploring, learning a different topic, binge-researching, cooking, or catching up on Netflix marathons. Like me.
